4 Thoughts

4 Thoughts

1. Don’t talk about it, be about it.

2. Would you follow you into battle?

3. Your routine is flawed – it’s time to get out of it.

4. …because if you don’t, who will?

Do you have a thought to add?

The Hesitant Warrior

I was listening to a series called The Warrior, it's a five part message about the call of our lives. The second part is called The HesitantWarrior, and within it the speaker said something that stuck with me: "The Warrior becomes hesitant when the fear of failure exceeds the faith they have in Christ"

Throughout the rest of the message I thought on that one point; it's so true. There are so many things I'm hestitant to step out and do because of the fear that I will fail, or more aptly I fear what others will think when/if I fail.

To quote Austen: sometimes my "life seems nothing more then a quick succession of busy nothings".
I' m a very busy person, my days are scheduled full months in advance, school, volenteering, work, family, freinds etc,. Yet as I listened to this man speak of fear and hesitancy I realized that almost everything I've planned in my world are things I won't fail at. Things I know deep down require very little courage or faith on my part. Things people will smile at, say way to go to and not be challange or threatened by. Don't get me wrong I don't place value on a task simply based on how many people are challanged by it. Yet if the reason for not doing or doing something is based on the comfort of others alone, then wether it is a "good" or "nice" thing to do means nothing.

So, what things am I not doing based on fear of failing or fear of others? What things am I doing based on comfort or fear of others?

Am I willing to change? To find a cause and fight for it no matter what (or who)?

Are you?
